Regional Airport Transfers Across Southeastern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and Northern Iowa

Regional airport transfers in southeastern Minnesota are a big part of what Gold Crown does. Rochester is where the company is based, but a good share of the rides start or end somewhere else. People live in small towns, farm country, and river communities across three states, and a lot of them need a dependable way to reach an airport, a clinic, or a business meeting.

What regional service covers

Regional trips are booked point to point. You give us a pickup address and a destination, and we quote the ride. Common examples include a pickup in Winona for a flight out of MSP, a drive from Mason City to a Mayo Clinic appointment, a family trip from La Crosse to Rochester, and a corporate visit to a plant in a smaller town.

If you need the car for several stops, ask about hourly service. It often works better than separate legs on a longer day.

Southeastern Minnesota

This is home territory. Rochester, Stewartville, Byron, Oronoco, Pine Island, Kasson, Dodge Center, Chatfield, Winona, Austin, Albert Lea, Red Wing, and Lake City are all regular stops. Many of these towns are 20 to 60 miles from Rochester, which makes a private ride to MSP or RST practical for people who do not want to drive themselves and leave a car at the airport for a week.

Western Wisconsin

La Crosse is the busiest connection, about 80 miles from Rochester. Passengers also come from Onalaska, Holmen, Trempealeau, and Eau Claire. Wisconsin residents frequently travel to Rochester for care at Mayo Clinic and then ride back home afterward. See the La Crosse page for details on that corridor.

Northern Iowa

Mason City, Charles City, Decorah, and the towns between them send passengers to Rochester and on to MSP. Iowa riders often start before dawn for an appointment, then ride home that evening. Tell us the appointment time and we plan the pickup so you arrive with time to check in.

Airports from the region

Rochester International Airport (RST) is the closest airport for most of the region. MSP offers many more flights, and for many riders in Wisconsin and Iowa it is simply the better choice. We drive to either one. We can also pick you up from MSP and take you to a town other than Rochester, with the quote based on the actual route.

How regional pricing works

Regional rides are quoted by distance and vehicle. You hear the price before you book. Round trips and same-day returns can be planned together, and the driver can wait if your visit is short. A call to the office takes a few minutes and gets you the number.

Why people choose a private ride for longer trips

  • No parking fees at the airport and no worrying about the car at home.
  • A direct ride instead of a multi-stop shuttle.
  • Room for luggage and for a companion.
  • Pickup at your door, even in a small town.
  • Flexibility if your appointment or flight changes.

Vehicles for longer drives

The Lincoln Continental, Lincoln Nautilus, and Cadillac XT5 are comfortable for highway miles. The Chevrolet Suburban has the most cargo space for families with luggage, and the Ford Transit suits groups. See the fleet page.

Planning a regional trip

The first question we ask is where the ride starts, since a pickup in a small town may need extra drive time to get the car to you. The second question is when you need to arrive. Working backward from that time lets us pick a departure that does not leave you waiting in a parking lot.

Round trips and same-day returns

A same-day round trip works well for medical appointments. The car takes you to Rochester, waits or returns at a time you set, and takes you home. Because many regional riders are patients, drivers are used to flexible return times and do not rush you out of the clinic.

Seasonal notes

Harvest season, county fairs, and winter storms all affect rural roads. If you are traveling from a farm or a small town in bad weather, tell us your road conditions, and the driver plans extra time for the last few miles.

Tell us where you are

Call (507) 285-9528 or 800-238-2054, or use the reservation form and include your town. If you are heading to a medical appointment, read about Mayo Clinic transportation. If your destination is the airport, see airport transportation.
